Ways to Pay

 

The Council offers a number of ways for you to pay your council tax bill. They are listed below.

PLEASE NOTE THAT IF YOU CHOOSE TO PAY IN ANYWAY OTHER THAN BY DIRECT DEBIT OR DIRECTLY TO THE COUNCIL, PAYMENTS CAN TAKE UP TO 10 DAYS TO REACH YOUR ACCOUNT AND YOU SHOULD MAKE ALLOWANCES TO ENSURE YOUR PAYMENTS ARE RECEIVED BY THE COUNCIL ON THE DUE DATES

 

Direct Debit 

 

This is the most convenient and cheapest method for you and the council. If you already pay by direct debit, your payments will automatically be requested from your bank or building society account. This means that once set up you do not have to do anything else and you will always be notified at least 14 days in advance of any change to the amount taken out of your account. If you would like to pay this way, please complete and return the form inside of your payment book, or contact Customer Services.

 

Allpay

 

You can pay by using your Allpay payment card at any Post Office or outlet displaying the Allpay sign.If you would like to pay in this way but do not have a payment card please contact Customer Services.  For further information about using the card click here.

 

Debit Cards

 

You can pay by using any of the following cards by telephoning the Council Offices:

  • MAESTRO,
  • SOLO,
  • VISA
  • DELTA
  • VIS ELECTRON.

Internet

 

Please go to the Internet Payment link, and follow the instructions. (Debit cards only)

 

Automated Telephone Line

 

You can pay 24 hours a day by telephoning 0845 6018609 and following the instructions.

 

Telebanking

 

To make a payment using any of the telephone, TV, PC or other remote banking services offered by the banks and building societies, please quote the following:

Sort code: 40 32 14 

Account number: 61246003 

Followed by the account number located in the top right hand corner of your bill.

 

At other Councils

 

You can pay at any of the following Councils who will then forward your payment to us:

  • Harborough District Council
  • East Northamptonshire Council

By Post

 

You should make cheques payable to Melton Borough Council and send them with the payment slip to the Council Offices. Please write your name, address and account number on the back of the cheque.  If your payment covers more than one account please enclose all the relevant slips.   We do not send receipts unless you ask for one.

 

DO NOT SEND CASH THROUGH THE POST

 

At a Post Office 

 

You can pay at any Post Office by giving them your payment and slip. You will have to pay a fee for this service and only cash payments will be accepted.

 

At a Bank 

 

Please fill in the details on the slip in your payment book and take it to any bank. You may have to pay for this service.

 

Girobank 

 

If you have a Girobank account, fill in the payment slip and send it to Girobank plc, Bootle, Merseyside, GIR 0AA
