Concessionary train travel for people aged 60
and over and for disabled people resident in the Borough of Melton
has been reinstated from 1 April 2009, following a decision by the
Council.
For people aged 60 or over, travel
passes are valid for half fare train travel at all times on train
journeys wholly within Leicestershire (including to and from
Leicester), and between Leicestershire stations and Derby,
Nottingham, Grantham, Peterborough, Kettering and Nuneaton. This
therefore includes the stations at Melton Mowbray and
Bottesford.
For disabled people who meet the scheme
criteria, passes are valid for free travel at all times on train
journeys wholly within Leicestershire (including to and from
Leicester), and between Leicestershire stations and Derby,
Nottingham, Grantham, Peterborough, Kettering and Nuneaton. This
therefore includes the stations at Melton Mowbray and
Bottesford.
This scheme and other travel schemes,
including free bus travel, are provided for by Melton Borough
Council and administered by Leicestershire County Council.
