MAIN CONTRACTOR FOR COUNCIL NEW OFFICES ANNOUNCED

The Council is delighted to announce that J H Hallam (Contracts) Ltd a Leicestershire based contractor, has been successful in winning the contract to build the Council’s New Offices at Burton Road.

Councillor Malise Graham said:

“It has been a challenging project to get to this stage so quickly.  We are now entering the final part of the process with the site ready for the building and access road works to commence and which will significantly improve the access to the Railway Station and this site.  The Council is looking forward to working with our main contractor, J H Hallam (Contracts) Ltd following an extensive 9 month OJEU process to select them.  I am pleased to add that the project remains within budget and on time to be delivered early summer next year.”

Mr J Hallam said:

“We are delighted to have been successful in the selection as main contractor for this prestigious & very important local project”

The Council adds that this exciting project will regenerate this derelict site; bring economic activity to the Town in terms of the building works and additional footfall into the Town Centre which is welcomed by Town businesses.  The Council will be sharing these offices with other partners in order to provide efficient, effective and good value for money services to Melton’s residents.
