Multi-Agency Workshop
Press Release
10 February 2012
Melton Borough Council hosted a Multi-Agency
Workshop on 9 February 2012 which included representatives from
local schools, Leicestershire County Council, NHS, Leicestershire
Constabulary and local churches. The Workshop was
specifically addressing the emotional wellbeing of Children and
Young People living in the Melton area. The Workshop was
initiated before Christmas at the Melton Action for Youth Group
where discussions were had about how agencies and partners might
work more collaboratively together to support Young People.
Attendance at the Workshop was outstanding
with many different Public and Voluntary Sector Organisations
represented. Delegates heard presentations from key Agencies,
who all offer services around emotional wellbeing. Some of
the key aims of the workshop were to identify gaps and work
collaboratively to develop a positive way forward.
Cllr Pam Posnett, Chair of the Melton Action
for Youth Group said
“I was very heartened to see the large
attendance and the delegates’ commitment to trying to achieve
improvements in outcomes for Children and Young People in
Melton. What really came across during the day was how much
the professionals in the room cared about making a difference”.
