New Council Offices : Internal Design Finalised
Press Release
26 October 2010

An interior design scheme has been
developed for the new Council building by Monteith Scott
architectural interior designers. Consultations on the scheme
have been held during September with internal and external
stakeholders including the Sounding Board. The Sounding Board
is made up of local individuals who help us develop some of our
ideas and they have the opportunity to put forward their views on
the development.
The materials and scheme were well
received and the scheme will now be implemented by the Council’s
main contractor, Hallam Contracts.
Screen printed images denoting
the local area will be included in the reception and office
areas. With those in the reception area focusing on a
heritage theme as the artist’s impression below depicts.

Malise Graham, Leader of the
Council, stated that :
‘The designs are modern and forward
thinking in their layout and materials used. The offices will
be open plan and provide a light, airy and flexible space for MBC
staff and partners with a central hub on each floor containing
printing and copying facilities.
It is hoped that our visitors will
find the reception areas welcoming and relevant to their
needs.’
