A By-Election was held last Thursday, 26 March
2009 to fill the vacancy on the Long Clawson & Stathern Ward
left by Richard Umbers.
Four candidates stood for election and the
turnout of electors was 29%. The Conservative Candidate,
Pamela Baguley of Barkestone-le-Vale, was duly elected.

Pamela Baguley is a sales and marketing
executive and has lived in the Vale of Belvoir for over 15 years.
She previously represented Bottesford on the Borough Council and
prior to moving to the Vale was formerly Mayoress of Kirklees. She
therefore has considerable experience as a Councillor.
