NO PLANS TO SELL EMBANKMENT

The Council's Policy, Finance and Administration Committee on 6 July 2009 will consider the future of the land for sale at Nottingham Road.

The confidential report that members will consider recommends that the Embankment will not be sold. This follows residents writing to the Council raising concerns regarding its future.

The Council also wishes to confirm that it has no plans to put a road on the Embankment land as concerns have also been raised by residents that this is the case.

Councillor Malise Graham said

"We have listened to the concerns and issues being raised by residents and the report does not recommend the sale of the embankment. Only the car parking and spare land up to the remaining Council office wing ( Phoenix House) is recommended to be sold."
