Town Station Site: Medieval Wall

The Policy, Finance and Administration Committee at its meeting last night considered the recent request by the Melton Mowbray Town Estate for grant funding to rebuild the wall at the Town Station site.

The Council considered a number of options that varied from grant funding the project, to obtaining further information from a plan that will influence the future development of the area.

Leader of the Council, Councillor Graham said ‘we considered the grant request and also comments from the Council’s recent Business Development Sub-Committee meeting and concluded that the best way forward is to undertake a development plan for the Burton Road site in 2011 that will give a better understanding of the future regeneration of the area’
