trustees of voluntary action melton respond to radio
leicester
interviews
Press Release
27 January 2012
The Trustees of Voluntary Action
Melton would like to respond to the two interviews which took place
on Radio Leicester today – 27 January 2012.
The Trustees had not
approved this interview, it does not reflect the reality of the
situation and the Trustees want to make it clear does not represent
the views of the Trustee Board.
The Trustees would like
to confirm that they have no intention to close Voluntary Action
Melton but due to financial issues which need to be addressed they
are seeking to manage this in a proactive and effective manner in
order to ensure that Voluntary Action Melton has a future.
The Trustees have had to take difficult decisions and earlier this
month issued a press release which explained the situation.
Since that press release
positive discussions about the future have been held with Melton
Borough Council and as a result of these discussions the Trustees
are hoping to make a further positive announcement after the Board
meeting which is due to take place on Tuesday 31 January 2012.
In the light of the Radio
Leicester interview this morning the Trustees would like to stress
that they have always had a positive relationship with
Leicestershire County Council and in the light of the interview
would be delighted to involve Leicestershire County Council in any
further discussion and would welcome more talks about how we can
keep worthwhile projects open.
