COUNCILLORS' ALLOWANCES

As Borough Councillors, Members receive an allowance (Basic Allowance) for time they give to serve the community and to cover their expenses.

Some Members also receive an additional allowance (Special Responsibility Allowance), with the amount paid varying according to their level of responsibility.  This additional allowance is paid for roles such as Group Leader and Chair of a Committee.
