you may wish to apply for either a postal or proxy vote. A postal
vote is where your vote is sent to you before polling day and you
can fill it in and return either by post, deliver to the polling
station on the day of the election or hand in at the council
offices before the offices close on the day of the election. A
proxy vote is where you ask another person to vote on your behalf
either at the polling station or as a postal proxy.

form by either calling 01664 502400, emailing electoralservices@melton.gov.uk or

can have it just for election day, a set period of time or
indefinitely. An application form must be completed by the person
applying for it and the application form returned to Parkside,

they can get to your polling station to vote on your behalf. If the
person you appoint does not live in the area they will have to
apply to be a postal proxy. In doing this your vote will be posted
