Information Technology

ICT is key
to the development of the Council and includes information,
telecommunications and technology.
The ICT
section develops, manages and implements the strategic
information and technological direction of the Council. The service
is also responsible for implementing new technology projects.
Services are provided to the public, Councillors and
internal users via the Council's website.
The ICT section
has four main functions:
- - To implement new organisational initiatives
- - To maintain and upgrade existing systems
- - To resolve any operational issues with existing systems
- - To manage the Council's strategic information provision
The Council periodically produces an ICT Strategy which details
the Council's policies in respect of information management and
technology. It also publishes "ICT and You" , which is
a high level summary of the
ICT
Strategy.
An ICT development plan
is produced on annual basis which details the information
technology developments the Council plans to implement.
Every year the ICT service
produces its annual service
plan. The service plan details the planned activies for the
coming year, the level of service that can be expected and the
resources (financial and staffing) used to deliver the
activities.
