Air monitoring review and assessment
Environmental Health have carried out a review
and assessment of air quality in the Borough and you can download a
copy in pdf format below. In March 2001, as a result of the
first round of the airquality review and assessment process, the
Council declared the ring road around Melton Mowbray town centre an
air quality management area.
In 2003 the Borough completed an Updating and
Screening assessment of Air Quality under the second round of
review and assessment, to fulfil its objectives. The
Updating and Screening Assessment can be downloaded
below.
Further modelling and monitoring demonstrated
that the Air Quality objective for nitrogen dioxide would be
achieved at 31st December 2005 and DEFRA
agreed that Melton Borough Council committee could revoke the air
