What we do IN POLLUTION CONTROL

In Melton Borough there are currently 19 Part B installations regulated by the Council along with one Part A(2) installation.  There are also a number of other installations, mainly A(1) which are administered by the Environment Agency.

The Council inspects these premises on a regular basis depending upon the risk of environmental pollution being caused, to ensure compliance with the conditions of their permits and also investigate complaints about these processes. In addition, we maintain a public register of all Part A(2) and Part B installations operating within the Council's area.
