environmental Maintenance        

The Council has its own, small in-house Enviromental Maintenance team that maintain areas of land belonging to the Council. This team provides a useful all round environmental resource, that are able to support and assist Melton Borough Council with the delivery of many of its services.

Activities carried out include:

Grass cutting

Shrub and border management

Edging

Installation of street name plates

Ground preparationWeeding

Bench and litterbin refurbishment

Each year the team also helps the 'Melton in Bloom' team with their floral displays in the town centre and other areas. Over the winter months the team assists Parish Councils in the Borough with any environmental works they may have. Other activities include putting up bunting and flags for events, sand bagging and bark chipping.

The team has a small building resource that are able to carry out installation of street signs, litter/dog bins, signage, mini recycling sites and also have the ability to undertake small tarmacing and general building projects.
