A legal requirement of the Health and Safety at Work Act is
that all employers ensure that they run their businesses in a
manner which is safe for their employees, thier customers and

Health and Safety at Work Act
The Health and Safety at Work act was passed to make further
provision for securing the health, safety and welfare of persons at
work, for protecting others against risks to health or safety in
connection with the activities of persons at work, for controlling
the keeping and use and preventing the unlawful acquisition,
possession and use of dangerous substances, and for controlling

Smoke Free Public Places and Workplaces
Employers are also required by law to provide a smoke free work
place for all thier employees. This also applies to vehicles. It is
a criminal offence not to comply with the smoke free law, and
anyone who does so may face fixed penality fines or larger fines
