What is the Statement of Principles?
Each Licensing Authority has
produced a Statement
of Principles that will set out how the authority intends
to exercise its functions under the Act and the principles it
intends to apply. The Gambling Commission guidance
will contain some information about what to include in the policy
but its final content will be the responsibility of the individual
Authority. The policy will last three years but should be reviewed
from time to time.
The Gambling Act 2005 requires the Council to prepare and
publish a Statement of Gambling Policy that sets out the policies
that the Council will generally apply to promote the Licensing
Objectives when making decisions on applications made under the
Act.
The Statement of Principles must be reviewed every 3
years.
