Fraudulent Collections
Whilst the majority of collections are likely
to be genuine, fraudulent collections sometimes occur.
To help decide whether a collection is genuine
or not you should consider the following:
- There should be a name, address and charity registration number
on the leaflet. You can check its validity with the Charity
Commission. All charitable organisations must be registered with
the Charity Commission.
- Whilst commercial companies may collect on behalf of charities
they must state which charity they represent.
