Pest Control
Melton Borough Council offers a service to treat various kinds
of pests. Please note that there is a charge for this service, as
detailed below. There may be a reduction for those in receipt of
benefits.
Rats
Our pest control Service will treat Domestic Rats for a charge of
£26.20 plus VAT. If you are in receipt of income related benefits
there is a 50% discount.
Mice, Fleas and Wasps
Our Pest Control Service will treat mice (excluding
dormice) for a charge of £47 plus VAT, fleas and wasp's nests for a
charge of £45 plus VAT. If you are in receipt of income
related benefits there is a 50% discount. Please note that if we
visit a Commercial or Business Property to solely treat a wasps'
nest, there is no charge for VAT.
Other Insects or Pests
Melton Borough Council may be able to treat other types of
insects or pests, however a charge will be made unless you are in
receipt of income related benefits. Please contact us to
enquire.
Commercial Premises
Melton Borough Council may be able to offer a Pest Control Service
to Commercial Premises. Please contact Customer Services for more
information.
Identification of Pests
Melton Borough Council is able to offer an identification
service for unidentified pests which you may have found in your
home. If you would like to take advantage of this service, please
send a (dead) sample in a sealed contained to Melton Borough
Council at the usual address, marked for the attention of the Pest
Control Officer. Please remember to include your contact
details.
Please note that that Melton Borough Council does not offer a
service to treat the following kind of pests:
- Bees;
- Foxes;
- Grey Squirrels;
- Dormice;
- Pigeons;
- Ants.
