Melton Annual Monitoring Report
Melton Borough Council monitors the outcomes from the
development that takes place across the Borough on an annual basis
to see what effect our planning policies are having.
The results of this monitoring are published each year in an Annual
Monitoring Report which is required to be submitted to the
Secretary of State under Section 35 of the Planning and Compulsory
Purchase Act 2004.
Effective and robust monitoring allows us to understand whether
policies are having the desired effect and how to develop new
policies, The Melton Annual Monitoring Report is an essential
element of the Local Development Framework.
The AMR is divided into two sections:
1. A summary of progress towards milestones set out in the
Melton Local Development Scheme
2. A set of indicators that monitor the performance and
effects of land-use planning policy
An Annual Monitoring Report is produced each year and covers the
period from 1 April to 31 March. The first Melton Annual Monitoring
Report (MAMR) was produced in December 2005 and an AMR has been
published during December for each year since then.
