Melton Statement of Community Involvement
The planning system is designed to involve the public and
stakeholders in the process of producing plans. Local planning
authorities are required to include a Statement of Community
Involvement in their Local
Development Framework that describes how they intend to engage
the community and carry out public consultation arrangements when
preparing their Local Development Framework and dealing
with planning applications.
The original Melton Statement of Community Involvement was
adopted in October 2006.
This has now been revised in 2011 to ensure that we engage with
the community in the most up to date and effective ways, and,
reflect changes to the planning system which have occured since
2006.
The current
Melton Statement of Community Involvement was adopted in
October 2011.
