Development Plan Documents
The Melton Local Development Scheme sets out the
programme for preparing and publishing the portfolio of documents
that make up the Local Development Framework.
Development Plan Documents (DPD) are subject to independent
examination and once adopted are part of the statutory development
plan as defined by Section 38(6) of the Planning and Compulsory
Purchase Act 2004.
The Core Strategy will set out the vision and
planning strategy for the Borough. It will cover the broad location
of development and include the strategic policies for housing,
business, retail and transport.
The Land Allocations development plan document will consider and
identify major development sites.
