Sustainability Appraisal

 

All Local Development Documents, such as the Core Strategy, must undergo a Sustainability Appraisal (SA).  This appraisal involves the identification and evaluation of the impacts the document will have on economic, social and environmental objectives - the three dimensions of sustainable development. SAs are undertaken during the preparation of a document to help demonstrate that sustainability considerations have been incorporated into the local development framework from an early stage.
