Dead Animals
The removal of the majority of dead animals from the highway,
Council owned land or watercourses is carried out by Melton Borough
Council. This includes cats, dogs,domesticated and wild animals.
Removal will normally take 1 day, but could take up to 1 week
depending on the circumstances, the animal, and its location.
Exceptions
The Council does not normally remove birds and smaller animals.
In these cases nature is allowed to take its course.
Removal of dead animals from domestic properties or from farms is
not the responsibility of Melton Borough Council. For information
