Boxes and bins - What we collect
Recycling Boxes
Green Box
We accept:
- Junk mail (but no envelopes)
- Newspapers & Magazines
- Gift Wrap
- Cardboard (large cardboard boxes should be flat packed and
placed underneath the box)
- Telephone directories & catalogues
We cannot accept:
Grey Box
We accept:
- Drinks cans, food tins, clean foil, Empty aerosols
- Textiles (Must be clean and placed inside carrier bag)
- Glass jars and bottles (Clear, brown, and green)
- Plastic Bottles but no other plastics*
We cannot accept:
- Yoghurt pots, margarine tubs, Plastic trays*
- Cartons (for juice/soup)*
- Film or Bags*
- Broken Glass
- Window Glass or Pyrex*
* Where can I recycle these?
Black wheeled bins
We accept:
- Non-recyclable waste. This includes nappies and sanitary waste,
hoover dust, plastic wrappings.
- Food waste. Composting your food waste is one way of
keeping it out of your black bin.
- Recyclable waste, though we ask that you make use of the
weekly collection from your recycling boxes.
We cannot accept:
- Waste overflowing above the top of your bin. Extra bags will
not be collected.
- Side waste (excess left beside your bin).
Brown wheeled bins
These bins are for compostable garden waste only.
We accept:
- Grass cuttings
- Hedge trimmings
- Windfall fruits
- Prunings from shrubs
- Weeds
We cannot accept:
- Food waste
- Soil
- Flower pots & trays
- Wood, including branches thicker than an adult thumb
