Melton Borough Council is subject under specific duties of the Equality Act 2010, to publish equality information that it uses to help shape its services and policies.

The three main aims of the Equality Act 2010 duty are:

• Eliminate unlawful discrimination, harassment and victimisation and any other prohibited conduct under the Act
• Advance equality of opportunity between people who share a protected characteristic and people who do not share it; and
