What Your Rent Pays For
All of the rent paid by Council Tenants goes directly into the
housing revenue account. We use this money to pay for housing
services such as repairs, caretaking, and cleaning. This money also
covers the cost of running neighbourhood Community
Centres.
Your rent is a weekly charge for the property (or garage or
car parking space) you occupy. You may also need to pay additional
charges for any extra services you receive. These might
include:
- Water Charges
- Cleaning of Communal Areas, for example in blocks of flats
- Home Contents Insurance
Failure to pay for these additonal services may affect your
tenancy , or services available to you.
