The Tenants Forum Executive

Residents Associations are made up of local volunteers who operate within a defined geographical area. These associations focus on the concerns of local residents with anything from housing problems such as repairs, to environmental or crime issues.

Residents Associations are recognised by Melton Borough Council who believe they play an important role in building communities and delivering services to the people of Melton.

The Fairmead Residents Association

The residents of the Fairmead estate established the Fairmead Residents Association in a bid to help eradicate anti-social behaviour and deal with litter and grounds issues, as well as create a friendly environment for the residents.

The group has gone from strength to strength and hope that with additional support from local residents, the neighbourhood will continue to improve. Fiona Gray is the Chair of the association and is supported by a committee.

The next Fairmead Resident Association meeting is on Tuesday 10th January 2011, 6.30pm in the Fairmead Community Centre. Please come along to meet other Fairmead residents to help tackle issues and improve the area you live in.

The Fairmead Community Centre was recently refurbished to create a Community and Sure Start Children’s Centre on the estate. The facility provides even more activities for the residents and encourage better use of health services. Activities also include treasure hunts and coffee mornings.  For more information, please contact Sam Spencer, Resident Involvement Officer on 01664 502 502. For a list of weekly activities held at the Sure Start Community Centres please click here.
