Coronavirus Update - Melton Borough will enter Tier 3 from 2 Dec.

From Wed 2 Dec, Melton Borough, along with the rest of Leicestershire, will enter Tier 3 (Very High Alert) of the Local Restriction levels. For more information visit the government website.

Local Restrictions Support Grant (Closed) Addendum and Additional Restrictions Grant

New Government grants are now available for businesses affected by the Covid-19 pandemic.

The Government has released business guidance for these schemes which we encourage you to read before applying.

 

Local Restrictions Grant (LRSG (Closed) Addendum)

 For businesses required to close due to national restrictions

The Local Restrictions Support Grant (LRSG (Closed) Addendum) supports businesses that have been required to close due to the national restrictions between 5 November and 2 December 2020.

Businesses that were open as usual, but were then required to close between 5 November and 2 December 2020 due to the national restrictions imposed by government may be eligible for LRSG (Closed) Addendum.

Eligible businesses may be entitled to a cash grant from their local council for each 28 day period under national restrictions.

For the Local Restrictions Support Grant (Closed) Qualifying businesses will receive grant amounts as follows:

  • Businesses occupying property appearing on the local rating list with a rateable value of exactly £15,000 or under on the date of the commencement of the widespread national restrictions will receive a payment of £1,334 per 28-day qualifying restriction period.
  • Businesses occupying property appearing on the local rating list with a rateable value over £15,000 and less than £51,000 on the date of the commencement of the widespread national restrictions will receive a payment of £2,000 per 28-day qualifying restriction period.
  • Businesses occupying property appearing on the local rating list with a rateable value of exactly £51,000 or above on the commencement date of the widespread national restrictions, will receive £3,000 per 28-day qualifying restriction period

 

Additional Restrictions Grant 

The Additional Restrictions Grant (ARG) supports businesses that are not covered by other grant schemes or where additional funding is needed.

The Additional Restrictions grant is much more discretionary and due to the limited funding available Melton Borough Council will be looking to support businesses within those sectors most impacted by the recent Lockdown. These will be businesses within, or those who gain most of their income by supplying the following industries:

  • Retail,
  • Tourism,
  • Hospitality
  • Physical activity Leisure
  • Events/ events management
  • Food and  drink related activity (manufacturing, sales, leisure experiences

The council will reserve the right to consider businesses that fall outside of these sectors in exceptional circumstances.
