Draft Equality Scheme Consultation

We have pleasure in providing you with the opportunity to comment on Melton Borough Council's draft Equality Scheme and Equality Objectives. The new scheme will cover the period 2020 to 2024.

We are seeking your views as the current Equality Scheme comes to an end in 2020 and we need to update it to reflect our priorities for the next four year period. The Equality Scheme includes information on the Council’s moral and legal duties; aims and objectives; governance and performance management arrangements together with its vision & values. Questions about the scheme can be found in Section A of the survey.

The Council also has a legal duty to produce one or more Equality Objectives every four years which help us deliver our equality priorities. We have developed four objectives for 2020-2024.

Each Objective has a number of actions (including legal requirements) which we have identified as important at Melton. These will form the action plan for the scheme. We would also appreciate your comments to help shape the new objectives and add any important actions you feel are missing. Questions about these can be found in Section B of the survey.

Your feedback will be used to shape the scheme, objectives and actions, together with other considerations such as what we need to provide legally and what we have identified as priorities.

Please note that the responses in the ‘about you’ section will be held securely and will not be subject to release under the freedom of information legislation nor passed to any third party.

Please take time to read the Equality Scheme and Equality Objectives before completing the survey. Please find both documents here.

The deadline for survey completion is Tuesday 8th October 2019. The survey should take around 10-15 minutes of your time.

The survey is now open, please click here.
