The UK general election will be held on Thursday 8th June. 

Register to vote 

To vote in any election you must register to vote 12 working days before the election takes place. You only need to register once unless you change your address or your personal details change.

You only need to register to vote in this election if:

  • You have not registered before
  • Your address has changed
  • Your name has changed (e.g. married) 

Voting by post 

It is now too late to apply for a postal vote for this election.

Voting by Proxy

It is now too late to apply for an ordinary proxy vote for this election.

Medical emergency and employment proxy vote

You may be able to apply for a proxy on the grounds of a medical emergency or being taken away from home due to work.

If you have a medical emergency or your work requires you to be away from home after 5pm 31 May 2017  you may be able to apply for an emergency proxy vote.  For applications of this type please contact electoral services on 01664 502502 or email.
