General Election 2017

The UK general election will be held on Thursday 8th June. 

Register to vote 

To vote in any election you must register to vote 12 working days before the election takes place. You only need to register once unless you change your address or your personal details change.

You only need to register to vote in this election if:

  • You have not registered before
  • Your address has changed
  • Your name has changed (e.g. married) 

Voting by post 

To vote by post you must download, print and return the postal vote application using the address printed on the form by Tuesday 23rd May 2017, 5pm. 

If you will be going away before 22 May until after 8 June, a postal vote will not be suitable for you and you will need to apply for a proxy vote
