Local land charges
All searches received from 31st March 2017 will require a search fee which includes VAT at 20% on CON29 and CON29O forms.
As of 1st July 2017 the Council is no longer manually updating the plotting sheets. The data is available via the map search on the Council’s planning application public access site which can be viewed here:

Anyone buying, leasing or mortgaging a property or land (or their legal representatives) in Leicestershire has to contact the relevant local authority to carry out a property search.
Property searches are required to find out if there are any matters affecting a building or plot of land such as tree preservation orders, listed building status and planning applications.
There are two methods of making a search:
Standard local land charges search is usually made up of two parts: LLC1 - Official Certificate of Search. Please see our table of fees for the costs of a standard search and the optional questions. (Please note, Expedite searches - please call before you submit your documents and payment to check the service availability)
Standard searches of the Local Land Charges Register in Leicestershire have been made easier with the launch of a central website to request and access information.
The new Leicestershire Searches service allows people to request Local Land Charges Searches for all properties in Leicestershire in one place, making the process quicker and simpler.
Personal search, anyone can inspect the Local Land Charges Register at Parkside by arranging an appointment (available between 10am till 4pm) with the Land Charges team on 01664 502502 or email email@example.com
What we need:
48 hours’ notice
the name of the person or company carrying out the search
the full address of the property, with the area to be searched clearly outlined in advance of the appointment
Please note: It is the responsibility of the person carrying out the search to identify relevant information and make notes. Local Authority staff can only offer factual clarification on matters. There is a right to inspect the registers, however, there is no right to copy this information by the way or use of cameras, mobile phones, digital pens or by the use of USB memory sticks) extracting copies in such a manner is not allowed, as you would be in breach of copyright under, The Copyright, Designs and Patents Act 1988. Copies can be supplied for a fee. Please make a request at the Customer Services Desk and the Local Land Charges department will send you the information as soon as possible.
