Refuse Sacks

Communal bins

Some properties in our area are not supplied with individual wheeled bins. Instead they have communal bins used by a group of properties, or dispose of their waste and recycling in sacks.

Please click here to find out when we will collect your waste.

If you live in a communal area you should use pink sacks to dispose of refuse and brown sacks for recycling.

A yearly supply (two rolls) both pink and brown bags will be delivered to you during March and April each year.
If you need additional sacks please call 01664 502 502, there is a charge of £20 for all replacement sacks.

If you do not have communal bins, on collection day, please leave your bags at the front of your property (usually at the point that it meets the highway). Please ensure that they are:

  • visible and accessible for crews
  • in position by 7am
  • do not cause an obstruction to the public

You can put the same materials in your brown recycling sacks as those that can be put into the brown bins. Information on what can be recycled can be found here.

Please do not overfill sacks, as they can split, making it impossible for the crews to collect them. Please do not place broken or smashed glass into your recycling sack.
