Early Help 11-19/24 Grants

Early Help funding 2014/15 was for projects and support for young people aged 11-19 years (or up to 24yrs with additional needs) that improves young peoples wellbeing and leads to a reduction in demand for more specialist services.

Following two rounds of Early help funds (for young people aged 11 to 19 or up to 24 with additional needs) for the Melton locality, a total of £47,922 was allocated to the following projects;

Thursday Speaking Out & Winning Wednesday Youth Groups - Melton Mencap

Two weekly Youth clubs for young people with learning disability and associated conditions.

Knighton Counselling - Space4u Counselling

Professional counselling to young people aged 11-19 years old (24 with special needs), struggling with mental health issues and are finding it difficult to cope or move forward in life

Cycle of Change- Go Getta

A professional support service for young people to engage and support 'targeted' and 'hard-to-reach' communities, with a particular focus on vulnerable and disadvantaged groups, to help them achieve their potential academically and socially and improve their overall emotional and physical wellbeing.

Two weekly senior youth clubs at the Edge and the Cove

Mechanics - Get into Gear Project- Melton Learning Hub

To convert the function room at Melton Country Park Café into a mechanics workshop & to deliver a variety of themed mechanics workshops to young people during all school holidays and on select weekends.

Terminal 1 Health- Terminal 1

A yearlong project helping young boys who are facing mental health issues, overcome these through the means of extreme sports. Giving these boys the opportunity to develop new skills in cycling, skateboarding, BMXing and rollerblading - whilst overcoming challenges and completing courses in a new and exciting environment.

Systemic/ family counselling- Relate

Offers young people and their families 6 free sessions of family counselling.

Thursday after school club/ Friday Gateway Club - Melton Mencap

Thursday after school club is for young people 14-19 all having learning disabilities and associated conditions.

Friday gateway club offers an evening of community leisure with friends and peers with opportunities to access different and varied activities, opportunities and experiences. Open to anyone from 19 years who has learning disabilities.

Make do and mend - Beauty & Utility Arts

WW1 themed intergenerational project for a group of young people and a group of older people within the Melton area.
