Types of income you need to provide

Prove your earnings

We will need to see your payslips from the last 2 month's (weekly, fortnightly and monthly). If you do not have enough payslips you can get your employer to fill out an earnings certificate.

Proof of capital

Working age customers: 

  • We will only need to see your bank/building society accounts if the total amount of your capital and savings is £5500 or more.
  • If you have a bank account that has statements, we will need to see full statements that show your name, address, account number and balance for at least the last eight weeks transactions.
  • If the total of your capital and savings is less than £5500, we will need you to confirm the account number and the balance of each account that you hold. 
Customers who have reached the age for state pension: 

  • We will only need to see your bank/building society accounts if the total amount of your capital and savings is £9000 or more. 
  • If you have an account that has statements, we will need you to confirm the account number, balance and cover for at least the last eight weeks transactions. 
  • If the total of your capital and savings is less than £9000 we will need you to confirm the account number and the balance of each account that you hold.

Proof of received benefits

We will need to see proof of the benefits you receive within four weeks of you making your claim.

People who live with you (non-dependants)

A non-dependant is a person aged 18 or over who lives in your home, or is using your home as their main residence. A non-dependant does not have to be a family member.

We will need to see original proof of all the income that a non-dependant receives.
