Melton Country Park Management
Our long-term vision for Melton Country Park is to provide a
varied, welcoming, safe, and well-maintained environment in which
people of all ages and from all sectors of the community can enjoy
both passive and active recreation and to encourage the enjoyment
and appreciation of the natural environment.
Aims

To work to provide a safe and welcoming environment for all
users of the park.

To provide an accessible and quiet haven for the enjoyment of
the countryside, whilst bringing together accessible examples of
the local ecology and landscape.

To provide a public open space where, as far as possible, the
needs of wildlife are met whilst encouraging public access.

To encourage, as far as possible, a wide variety of activities
in the park which would be compatible with the other aims of the
park.

To encourage users of the park to undertake activities that will
contribute towards their overall health and well being.

To provide a high quality environment which will encourage
visitors to Melton.

To work with partners and community groups to encourage and
develop appropriate uses of the park.
Management Plan
A five-year Management Plan for the park has recently been
produced in draft form. This provides detailed information on

Friends of Melton Country Park
The Friends of Melton Country Park Group was formed in 2003 and
aims to improve and maintain the park by raising funds, promoting
the park and holding regular volunteer work days.
