Talent Match Leicestershire

New to Me and My Learning in 2016 sponsored by the Big Lottery Fund through the Princes Trust the Talent Match project works with you if you are long-term unemployed and aged 16 - 24 years.

The project aims to engage with employers and wider partners to find local solutions to local youth unemployment issues.  We recognised a proportion of the population have ‘hidden disabilities’ some formally diagnosed, some not. Employers who are engaging with youth unemployment initiatives and apprenticeships are still seeking the ‘best candidates’ by using recruitment practices that are sometimes not inclusive to all. Talent match will be a bridge to employment, and support our local young people into work.

The project has been delivering activities to support over 400 young people since January 2014. More than 40% are not known to DWP (Job Centres). The average length of employment for clients is 2 years. More than 65% have English and Maths GCSE’s at grades C or above.

There are over 30  graduates on our collective caseloads and many others whom successfully completed further education. Yet, now in their twenties have struggled to break into the job market or gain any form of sustainable employment.  For more information or to discuss the Talent Match program contact Mark on 07572 413737.
