Melton Leisure vision is taking shape with improvements to gym and sports centre
Published Thursday, 13th August 2015
Melton Borough Council is pleased to announce that significant progress has taken place in relation to improving the facilities at Melton Sports Village (formerly KEVII Sports Centre).
The leisure centre including all the playing pitches and open space is now under the ownership of Melton Borough Council with the day to day running of the facilities being managed by Everyone Active.
There has been significant initial investment already taken place with improvements to the gym area, gym changing rooms, sports club changing areas and the all-weather sports pitch. New signage has been installed and all three clubs who use the facility as their home are now officially part of the branding.
The gym area has seen equipment being upgraded and replaced. Some of the improvements are the installation of new running machines, extra cable cross over machine, increased stretching area, and increased range of weights, new power plate and new televisions in the gym.
You can now become a member of the gym at a great rate of £25 per month and anyone interested should contact the centre direct on 01664 481188 or apply direct on the Everyone Active website. Throughout the remainder of the summer and autumn great deals are on offer for use of the sports hall, all weather pitch, classes and activities for children.
Cllr Leigh Higgins – Chairman of the Melton Leisure Vision Working Group stated;
‘We have made some immediate improvements to the site in order to improve the environment in which members of the gym and users of the other sports facilities experience. This is the first step of what is a really exciting project and we will be keeping members and the community informed of progress each step of the way’.
