The first ever Leicester Business Festival is starting on 26th October across Leicestershire, bringing with it an array of the very best in business events.
Events include the ‘Melton Business Event’ on Monday 2nd November (1pm-4pm) and an event ‘Introducing the Melton Food Enterprise Zone’ on Wednesday 4th November (9.30am – 12.30pm). Both events are free to attend and are being held at MBC Offices, Parkside, Station Approach, Burton Street, Melton Mowbray, LE13 1GH.
The new Festival will feature events, seminars, conferences and plenty more for businesses to be a part of and receiving exciting opportunities for their companies. Alister de Ternant, Chair of the Leicester Business Festival says of the event, “This festival is a celebration of business prominent at the national, with events run by businesses, for businesses. This is not about politicians or the public sector, more a chance for people and businesses to come together, exchange ideas and talk about moving business forward in the county.”
Melton Borough Council is hosting two free events, the first of which is the Melton Business Event aimed at stakeholders and businesses that wish to gain an understanding and update in relation to the various projects and proposals occurring now and planned for the future. MBC’s Strategic Director, Christine Marshall, will be hosting the event and with colleagues and partners will be providing an update in relation to the Melton Local Plan, Economic Development, the Superfast Leicestershire Broadband Project, Funding Opportunities and Skills Support. To register your interest in attending this event, please contact Maria Ramshaw, Economic Development Officer, 01664 502496, firstname.lastname@example.org
The Borough of Melton is one of the first places in the country to pioneer a Food Enterprise Zone (FEZ), a flagship Government initiative for economic growth to boost food and farming businesses through available benefits like grants, training opportunities and management support. With the help of the Food Enterprise Zone, we will have a more integrated and sustainable food supply chain; businesses will be able to add value to their products and diversify; and enterprises within the industry will be better supported and will achieve greater growth. Introducing the Food Enterprise Zone Event will introduce the project to all interested parties, explaining the different benefits that it will offer as well as the timelines and processes to follow. Consultation activity will also take place to provide the stakeholders with an open space for discussion that will be used as valuable input to shape the direction and focus of the FEZ. To register your interest in attending this event, please contact Jorge Castro, LDO/FEZ Project Manager, 01664 502363, email@example.com
Leader of the Council: Councillor Byron Rhodes said:
“We are delighted to be hosting these two events working with the LLEP, we believe that Melton has a lot to offer economically now and into the future and we wish to work closely with our employers to understand their needs and to keep them up to date with local developments that could be of benefit to their companies”.
With a multitude of great companies supporting the Festival, including Headline Sponsor the University of Leicester, Affiliate Partners Aon, Santander, AXA PPP and Mattiolo Woods, as well as extensive media coverage planned for social media, through media partners Leicester Mercury and Smooth Radio, the stage is set for what will be a ground-breaking occasion for the county.
The Leicester Business Festival takes off on the 26th October up until 6th November with the aim of showing off Leicester and the area’s business acumen in the UK, as well as the world.
