A 12 week consultation has started today on the Statement of Licensing Policy 2017.

The Licensing Act 2003 has been in effect since November 2005, it regulates persons and premises that provide licensable activities, which are; the sale or supply of alcohol, the provision of regulated entertainment and the provision of late night refreshment.
The Act requires the council to publish a Statement of Licensing Policy; this policy sets out how the council will administer its licensing functions under the Act. The policy must be kept under review and remains in existence for up to five years.
Melton Borough Council is seeking to make amendments to the existing policy as listed below:

How to comment on the Statement of Licensing Policy
The consultation carries a 12 week period for comments which is taking place between 31 August 2017 and 23 November 2017.

Although we are not able to give an individual response to each comment received, all comments will be presented to Full Council on 13 December 2017 for due consideration.
