Melton Community Lottery 1st Birthday – Three bonus prize winners!

Published Thursday, 14th December 2017 melton community lottery banner

Melton Community Lottery is getting ready to celebrate its 1st Birthday, by holding a Celebratory Event on Monday 18th December 12.15pm to 2pm.

Local good causes have been invited to join the celebration. The Birthday Bonus draw has now taken place and the winners will be presented with their prizes during the Melton Community Lottery’s First Birthday Event.

Leader of the Council, Cllr Joe Orson said: “It’s with great pleasure that we announce the Winners of the prize draw to celebrate the Melton Lottery’s first birthday. We hope that even more of the community will get involved with the scheme, to help support the many worthwhile good causes across the Melton Borough.”

44 good causes are currently registered and benefit directly from the Melton Community Lottery. These include local disability groups, animal charities, sports clubs, theatre groups and schools. Under the scheme, 60p in every pound goes directly to supporting local good causes and the remaining costs go towards the running costs and prize fund. You can choose to either support a favourite local cause or alternatively support the general good cause fund, which is administered by Melton Borough Council and provides vital support to a wide range of local organisations.

To date, Melton Community Lottery has celebrated with numerous winners, including three lucky winners who won £250, after getting a four numbers match! The jackpot of a whopping £25,000 is still to be won. The Melton Community Lottery is on track to support local good causes of a total of £15,000 by the end of its first year.
