Drop-in for Local Plan consultationPublished Tuesday, 15th May 2018
A public ‘Drop-in’ event has been arranged from 3pm to 7pm on Thursday 31st May 2018 at Parkside.
The session has been organised so that interested people can find out more about the proposed Local Plan modifications and get any help they need in filling in the consultation response form.
Councillor Leigh Higgins, Deputy Leader of Melton Borough Council, commented:
“This is a great opportunity for members of the public to come and find out more about the modifications being proposed to the Local Plan and ask any questions they may have. This is the next step in our consultation process and I would encourage people to come to Parkside, see what policies it is proposed to modify and find out more about how to complete the consultation response form”
The Local Plan sets out the Council’s policies and proposals for the use and development of land in the Borough over the next fifteen years or so. The Council has recently published Proposed Main Modifications to the Melton Local Plan following the Local Plan Examination Hearings conducted by an independent Inspector earlier this year.
The consultation on the Proposed Main Modifications, and associated Policies Map Changes and Schedule of Additional Modifications runs until 20th June 2018.
Consultation responses must relate to the modifications being proposed and not to any other part of the Local Plan. Also, it is not an opportunity to restate previous comments made, as these will already have been considered by the Council and the Inspector.
