Melton Borough Council extends design photo competition deadline to September 7th

Published Monday, 20th August 2018 Melton Borough Council extends photo competition deadline to September 7th

What do you think is the best designed building or development in the borough of Melton?

Send us a photo or photos of any building or development and tell us briefly why it is a good design!

By sending us a photo, you will stand a chance to win £50 of High Street Vouchers, or £25 vouchers for the two runners up!

Councillor Mal Sheldon, Chairman of the Place Committee said: “Much needed new development can greatly enhance local places if it is designed well. With over 6000 new homes planned for the borough over the next 15 years or so, we want to know what residents think are good examples of local development design, and why. Giving Melton’s residents the opportunity to be a part of this process holds great value  and we look forward to seeing the results.”

Any type of development is eligible to be entered, so long as it is within the borough of Melton. It may be as small as an extension to an existing property or as large as a housing estate or industrial building, and can include conversions and redevelopments.

Send us your entries by email to with your name and address, a photo of development, and up to 250 words saying what it is that makes it well designed, and where it is.

You can also post your entries to Planning Policy Team, Melton Borough Council, Parkside, Burton Street, Melton Mowbray, LE13 1GH

The closing date for entries is Friday 7th September 2018.

Entries will be judged by a Panel comprising Chair of the Council’s Local Plan Working Group and the Council Planners.

Entries to this competition may be featured in a Design of Development Supplementary Planning Document and associated publicity.
