Mayor's Civic Service – Sunday 7th October 2018, 10.30AM

The Mayor of the Borough of Melton, Councillor Pru Chandler will be attending the Melton Borough Civic Service at St. Mary the Virgin’s Church, Bottesford on Sunday 7 October 2018 at 10.30am.

The Mayor said: “The Council’s Mission is ‘Helping People, Shaping Places’ so we share similar objectives in our community roles to that of the Church and our partner organisations.  This service is about the dedication of the Mayor and the Council to serve the community in Melton Borough. I extend a warm welcome to anyone who would like to join us for this special morning service in the beautiful St Mary’s church in Bottesford.”

This annual service is symbolic of this common purpose and will be led by the Reverend David Payne.

A retiring collection will be divided between St Mary the Virgin’s Church and St. John the Baptist Church at Muston.

The service is open to the public.

Guests include the Lord Lieutenant of Leicestershire, the High Sheriff of Leicestershire, Chairman of the Leicestershire County Council, and other civic heads from Councils across Leicestershire and neighbouring authorities. Representatives from other public sector, charity and voluntary organisations that serve Melton Mowbray and the wider rural communities have been invited  A reception will be held immediately afterwards in the church.
