The Council is looking for an interested individual help promote high standards of conduct amongst Councillors and Parish Councillors of the Borough.

Melton Borough Council is seeking to appoint one ‘Independent Person.’  The role involves being consulted about complaints against Borough and Parish Councillors and includes the possibility of sitting on panels regarding Chief Officers’ employment.

The appointment attracts an allowance of £481 per year and expenses will be paid.  Training will be available to successful applicants.

Councillor Pat Cumbers, Chair of the Governance Committee, said :‘This is an exciting opportunity for interested people to help in ensuring high standards of conduct are maintained in local democracy.’
