Opportunity to have your say on housing in the Borough

Published Friday, 15th February 2019

Consultation on planning guidance relating to affordable housing and the mix of housing on new larger development sites closes on Wednesday 27th February.

The guidance covers issues such as which type of market housing and affordable housing should be developed on each individual residential site in the Borough.

The guidance provides further detail on some of the policies in the recently adopted Local Plan (2011-2036).  This sets out the Council’s policies for the use and development of land across the whole of the Borough.  The guidance will mainly be used by housing developers, builders, planning agents and planning consultants.

Responses to the consultation can be made via the Housing Mix and Affordable Housing SPD section on our Local Plan website:

A copy of the draft document, associated evidence and forms for making comments are online.

A paper copy of the draft document is available to view and paper copies of the comments form can be picked up from the Council Offices and from Melton and Bottesford libraries during normal opening hours.
