Mapperley House passes LFRS fire safety inspectionPublished Tuesday, 4th June 2019
On Monday 3rd June 2019, the Leicestershire Fire Rescue Service (LFRS) carried out a scheduled inspection at Mapperley House, St Johns Court.
This inspection follows considerable work at St John’s Court undertaken as part of Melton Borough Council’s commitment to ensure all properties comply with fire safety regulations.
As a result of this inspection, Cllr Alan Pearson, portfolio holder for Housing and Communities, is pleased to confirm that Mapperley House has passed this inspection, with the LFRS representative advising they view Melton Borough Council to be broadly compliant with fire safety legislation in its management of this building and its provision of fire safety measures and systems within.
Cllr Pearson stated “Melton Borough Council places the safety of all tenants at the highest priority. This ruling by LFRS confirms that the work being undertaken demonstrates the Council’s willingness to work with tenants and partner agencies to maintain safety in all Melton Borough Council properties. Whilst the Council is pleased with the outcome of this inspection, we will continue to improve our housing to ensure compliance with regulations.”
