Applications are now open for the Melton Borough Council Community Grants SchemePublished Tuesday, 5th November 2019
Applications are now invited for the Melton Borough Council Community Grants Scheme following approval of the new Community Grants policy.
The revised policy represents a significant step change in the way the Council allocates its community grants budget and ensures that grants will be allocated on the basis of receiving maximum social value for the residents of Melton.
The Community Grant Scheme provides exciting new opportunities for local projects and services to apply for financial support from the Council to deliver projects and services within the Melton Borough which demonstrate community benefit.
Charitable organisations, clubs and societies and companies with a community interest are among the types of organisations who may apply and are encouraged to do so.
Cllr Alison Freer Jones, Portfolio Holder for Corporate Governance, Access and Engagement said: “The Community Grant Scheme provides financial support to important community based projects in the Borough. One of the many great things about the Melton Borough is the community spirit which runs through our towns, villages and rural parishes. As a council we want to support this as much as we can which is why we have this fantastic scheme. The grants policy is flexible enough to lend support where it is most needed and awards will be steered by fundamental principles of community value.”
The application window is open from week commencing 4th November 2019 until 19th January 2020. We welcome applications from constituted community and voluntary groups for activities not conducted for profit.
