The Mayor of Melton thanks the Armed Forces in a special video

Published Monday, 22nd June 2020 Armed Forces Day

The continuing requirement for social distancing means that it is not possible to hold our Armed Forces Day event at Parkside on Monday 22 June 2020.

At this unprecedented time of the Covid-19 pandemic, it is more important than ever to show our appreciation and support of the Armed Forces, so the Mayor has recorded this special message.

It can be easy to forget that our Armed Forces role is so much wider than military and at any given time, British Forces are involved in a wide range of missions not only throughout the world, but also here in the United Kingdom as well as supporting the current pandemic crisis.

Their crucial work is enhancing security and stability both at home and abroad and for that we thank and celebrate our Armed services by the raising of the flag which will be flown at Parkside in Melton Mowbray from Monday 22 June to Armed Forces Day on Saturday 27 June.
