Maintenance work to the Chapel Building has been given the go-aheadPublished Wednesday, 7th May 2014
Melton Borough Council are pleased to confirm that the required maintenance works to the Chapel Building at the Cemetery on Thorpe Road have been given the go-ahead by the Bat Conservation Trust.
They will ensure both the resident Bats and the building each get the attention they deserve.
Decoration and repairs to the fabric started on the 28th April 2014 and are due to complete on the 16th May 2014. All local undertakers have been advised and it is hoped that the works will be as discreet and quiet as possible.
Raman Selvon, of Waste and Environmental Services who is responsible for the Cemetery up keep for Melton Borough Council is “delighted that arrangements could be made so professionally – works on the buildings can now push ahead in the knowledge that the Bats will be protected”.
